SPEAKER_00Thank you so much for having me again. I'm like, I love being on here. Everything just is really easy. I know it's really nicely.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I appreciate you coming back over and over too. It's nice.
SPEAKER_00I love it.
SPEAKER_01So, and this is such a fun blog, right?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, it is.
SPEAKER_01Abundance, fall equinox, so many things to be thankful for.
SPEAKER_00Definitely. I feel like abundance is always a really big conversation. And I think that uh a lot of people, when they're manifesting, there's abundance and there's love, right? I feel like those are the two really big ones that everyone's looking for and everyone wants.
SPEAKER_01I feel like you're right. Those are like the top two, probably.
SPEAKER_00They they have to be the top two.
SPEAKER_01I want abundance and I want love.
SPEAKER_00Yes, totally. And together at the same time.
SPEAKER_01And together at the same time. Yes. Yeah. So much for sure, for sure.
SPEAKER_00So um, but you know, today's focus will talk about abundance. Um, and I think the you know, the thing that's really nice to take into note with abundance is that abundance isn't just money. And totally, you know, abundance comes in all forms. That might be friendships, that might be what's growing in your garden and you have excess of. Um, that might be your family, that might be just sharing, you know, what you have. Um, maybe you have an abundance of rocks. I don't know, you know, whatever it might be. Or zucchini, right? Zucchini.
SPEAKER_01Everybody has abundance of zucchini if you have it planted. Absolutely.
SPEAKER_00You know, and even when you look at a plant and you know, all the seeds that are there and you know, all of that is a huge abundance when you look at one plant and you look at all the seeds that are on one plant and how that is um, you know, a huge tool for not only growing more plants, but also it feeds the animals and it feeds the birds, and sometimes it feeds us, depending on what the you know, so abundance is is more than just money.
SPEAKER_01And I think it's good to point that out because I think oftentimes we get so stuck in focusing on the money part of abundance that we tend to miss the other places where if you stop and think, it's like actually I have a lot of abundance happening. It then it might not be money right this second, right? But it's all energy.
SPEAKER_00It is, and that I think that's really important to talk about too is that you know, abundance is energy, right? And and when we block it with the fear that we don't have enough or that um, you know, the anxiety sets in and then we're all tense, and that is blocking the energy for for things to flow to us. Absolutely, yes. So I think that that's really important to to keep in mind whenever you are thinking about abundance or wanting more abundance in your life.
SPEAKER_01Um expressing gratitude or being having gratitude toward what you already have is gonna attract more.
SPEAKER_00Yes, absolutely. And I think that that uh leads into kind of what I want to talk about next, which is you know, being able to share your abundance with people is such a huge point and component of attracting abundance.
SPEAKER_01Oh, absolutely, absolutely. I love that.
SPEAKER_00So uh Brighton, what do you have that you're abundant for?
SPEAKER_01What do I have in abundance?
SPEAKER_00Oh, put me on the spot. Sorry.
SPEAKER_01Well, we actually we had an abundance of tomatoes down here because my neighbor was growing them and sharing them. And you know, the end of season tomatoes kind of get a little sloshy. Oh, yeah. And it's like we decided to just let them fall into the pot and put some dirt over them and just kind of leave them there and see what happens. Yeah, I think. So I would say we had abundance of tomatoes that um we couldn't eat because they kind of got mushy on us.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, and I think that's fine too, right? And now you're like giving that back to the earth and then you're providing food again for whatever critter might find that. Yep. And you know, uh tomatoes, they tend to come back, you know, because they have so many seeds in those beautiful little tomatoes. Totally. And so I think that's a really beautiful thing um to do. I was just like, okay, that's fine. I don't need to eat all of these. I'm gonna give this back to the earth and provide it for somebody else. Yeah. I I feel very grateful right now for um I I feel like I have an abundance of of being able to help people and you know, help people with herbs and um with the guided plant meditations, and I just feel very full of gratitude in abundance right now. Um, and I'm just really appreciative of that. That's great. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01I mean, when your business is doing well, it's good.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, for sure. For sure.
SPEAKER_01I've actually my business is actually doing well too, but my first thought was to tomatoes for whatever reason.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, no, I mean for sure. I think that that is that that is, you know, all part of it, right? Again, it's like you can be abundant for anything, you're gonna have so much abundance, and so you know, being able to share what you have and to um, you know, capture what you need to capture. Maybe capture is not the right word, but you know, you're gonna be harvest whatever it is, and then you can turn that into to food that you might need even for the winter if you're totaling canning or jams or preservatives or vinegars or herbs or tinctures. Yeah, I feel like that's what I'm doing right now is just making so much medicine. Like I was just gifted uh two uh spilanthes plants, which are fantastic, they're known as like the the toothache plants. And then I'm like, oh my gosh, this basically just showed up on my my porch. I mean, I knew it was coming, but a friend that I don't know, but a friend through you know a Facebook group basically was like, I have these, you should use these for medicine. So you're like, wow, awesome. And then another person in the neighborhood, which uh I love the buy nothing group on Facebook for plants and for all kinds of things. Um, they had an abundance of hops. So now I have like a huge hops tincture and a oil infusion going. And so I just feel very thankful and grateful for all the gifts that are showing up at my door. Just showing up at your door, just showing up at my door.
SPEAKER_01That's amazing. I love that. Love that for you. Awesome.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, and you know, we just had the fall equinox and that just last week, I know, right? Just rolled right through, and you can definitely feel the the change of of energy and you know, and the weather and all the things that are happening within that. But I think it is a really great time to to think about abundance and the abundance that comes our way. Um, and I just had the oak meditation recently up in Welch's, which was a really sweet and lovely meditation. And we were working with oak, and a good friend of mine gave me a whole bunch of acorns from her property. So that felt very abundant and special. And one thing that we really worked with with that was you know being grateful for the abundance that we have and setting intentions with that, but then also releasing the things again that that we have in abundance. Um, and so one thing we did in that class was we planted an oak tree, acorn to to grow an oak tree and to take that home. And again, I think that's something that's really important is really tending to those manifestations. And so when you are when you are planting, you know, something or when you're setting intentions and planting something, like you're bringing it to life. You're right, you know, you now you have a little baby that you are watching this, you know, in this case an oak tree grow. Yeah. And as you watch that oak creature grow, you remember those things that you've already set into intentions and manifestations with that tree. So as it grows, you're growing, and it's a really beautiful beautiful visual uh you know, of manifesting abundance into your life.
SPEAKER_01Right. And you could do that with anything, really. Yeah, you know, you can what whatever you have excess of, you could absolutely find a way to work it into a ritual.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I mean, something really fun you could do is like set intentions for people that are close to you in your life and plant those seeds, and then maybe you're giving it to them for the holidays, you know, or something like that. Exactly. Exactly. I think that that that can be, you know, used in a lot of different ways and helpful for many people. And um, you know, plants are the gift that keep giving in a lot of ways. They do, they do. So precious, precious little plants. I love it. I know, right? You can never have too much. You can never have too much.
SPEAKER_01Oh, we started talking about equinox though, and then we got like okay, that's okay. No, it's totally fine. Here we are.
SPEAKER_00Yes. So um the fall equinox, the things that come to me are, you know, what have I grown? What am I harvesting? What can I share? And what can I release?
SPEAKER_01You know, and we kind of like what do I want to keep and carry forward?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, you know, it is that divide in the year, right? Where the light is shifting and we're shifting out of summertime and we're rolling into the you know, fall/slash winter time. And it's just a very it's a you know, one of those pivotal moments. We have four of them every year.
SPEAKER_01Totally, you know, where we look at nature and go, okay, yeah, time to let go.
SPEAKER_00The thing that I noticed the most here in the Pacific Northwest is the light. You know, absolutely see that light change and start shifting. I actually was working on something in my house, and it was, I think this was last week, and then I turned around and it was pitch black outside. And I was like, what the heck? It's only like seven. What's happening? Like, no, I'm used to it being eight or nine at night before something, you know, where you see that time change, that that light change, right?
SPEAKER_01Where you notice it's starting to get darker earlier.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, and it's just such an immediate shift. And then, you know, it's also a great um reminder for us as well to start shifting that energy inward and to start resting when we allowing a little slow down time.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, absolutely.
SPEAKER_00It's really hard to keep up with that energy of the summer and try to carry that through the fall or the winter. Absolutely crash and burn. Absolutely. I think that is something that you know, humans for you know, generations after generation after generation, that's how they lived, right? You know, they lived with the seasons for a very good reason. And they ate what food was growing when it was growing instead of yes, yes, and they slept whenever you know the sun went down, and then when the sun came up, then they worked, you know, for whatever they needed for that day.
SPEAKER_01And and it stays darker longer, and so they slept longer. Yeah, for sure.
SPEAKER_00I I also find that like once the light starts going away, um in my own personal life, that's when the creative juices start happening, you know, like in the fall and the winter. So I might not be, you know, out and socializing as much anymore, and I'm definitely sleeping a lot more. A lot more. Um, but I'm also like, what can I create?
SPEAKER_01There's like an internal planning time going on.
SPEAKER_00Yes, for sure. My brain, there's there's a little wheel that starts ticking off, and I'm going, okay, I want to like paint and I want to like rearrange my house and I want to like work on this new product that I'm creating, or like work on edits from my book, or you know, all of a sudden it's just all very like in kind of focused internal in your internal world versus out and social. Yeah, that makes sense. And so I think that that is you know a big part of really taking note of those changes in the year and not feeling, you know, that you are doing anything wrong by doing that. I think that our society now and this day and age is like, no, you need to run at feels full speed ahead, like you do in the summertime all year round. Right. And that's not realistic.
SPEAKER_01That's not realistic, it's not sustainable. I feel like it's getting more and more recognized of like it's it's okay to I think more and more people are just doing it and being like, I'm going a little slower right now, yeah, than than in the past. And right now, like for me, the transitionary time between seasons is always so rough for me. Like today the sun's out, but it's like some days it's not. And it's like you you put a sweater on in the morning, and then it's like by the afternoon you need shorts. Like it's just a really awkward phase, too.
SPEAKER_00And I think noticing that and paying attention to that, it is the it is like multiple wardrobes.
SPEAKER_01What do I wear? This is not gonna be everywhere where where all my listeners are, but like if you're in the Pacific Northwest, you know what we're saying. It's like you don't know how to dress. You don't do I wear shoes now or what? I don't know.
SPEAKER_00And you you know, you're like, I want to sleep on a little bit longer, and you know, I want to go to bed a little earlier, and I want to like wear warm, fuzzy sweaters, and then that like you're saying the thing comes up. Well, it hasn't been that warm, but it's like you know, but it's like in the 80s this weekend and it's it'll be October. That I can't remember the last time that it was 80 and I'm gonna be like, what is happening?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_00But yes, I think that that is, you know, those are things that we should pay attention to. And and again, those shifts can be really hard for people this time of year. Uh, there's a lot of people that start, you know, struggling with seasonal depression. Yep.
SPEAKER_01I'm actually, yeah. Yeah, there'll be an episode coming on that. Yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00You know, that is a real shift that happens, and and that is a physiological shift that is happening in the body based on what's happening outside. So it's okay if you feel those things. It's normal if you feel those things. And there are lots of herbs out there that can help with those things. And we'll be talking about them. Yeah, totally. And mindful practices, you know, that you can do to kind of help make that an easier transition. Um, I have a really good friend that starts that severely struggles with this, and they tend to go, you know, into kind of a deep downward spiral and start drinking or whatever, you know, might be to numb out. Yeah. And I've watched this person over the past several years like know this about themselves. Right. And show them. So they're recognizing themselves. Yeah. And, you know, change that in themselves and be, you know, instead of being afraid or fearful that this is coming, like having the tools in your tool belt to help you get through this is really important.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, absolutely. I have a few clients that that I've helped through that too. Like, so if you're mindful of it and you know, you can change it. You don't have to just live there. Like, you don't have to accept it every single year. You can shift it.
SPEAKER_00Absolutely. And it's kind of more about, you know, what is it that you need and that in this particular time period that will help that shift, you know. Like for me, I'm going, cool, great. I can rearrange my house, like all the things that you just talked about.
SPEAKER_01All the things that you feel led to do right now. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00And a lot of times I just kind of have an ongoing list of things that, you know, maybe I'm getting ideas all year round.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, but you don't always get to them like that.
SPEAKER_00And I'm I know I'm not even gonna try to attempt to do those things in the summertime. Yeah. But you know, by the time the fall comes, I'm like, oh yeah, I can do this, this, and this now because I'm ready to go inward and I'm ready to work on that part of it.
SPEAKER_01Spend a little more time at home or a little more time, yeah, internally.
SPEAKER_00So I would say that's a a great tool to like already have in your brain and start thinking about is when you're frustrated in different parts of the sea the seasons, you know. Maybe it's just because it's not the right time of the year to do that.
SPEAKER_01Absolutely. I love that.
SPEAKER_00And so I think that is okay, but also a great tool and uh note to keep in yourself that there's nothing wrong with you, that you can't do all of these things all the time.
SPEAKER_01Absolutely. Sometimes you have a good idea that it's just not a right now idea, right?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, absolutely. So I think that that is great to keep in in in mind as we're making this you know, big shift into the winter season.
SPEAKER_01Definitely.
SPEAKER_00Definitely um, and so I think that kind of leads us into um you know, the recipe for for this for the fall abundance for fall equinox. Um and just kind of talking about that a little bit. Yeah, definitely. Um, so I think that you know, a mold spice blend reminds me of fall. So that's why that's what I was like, this needs to be the abundance, you know, recipe for this flight. Absolutely. Um and a lot of the the herbs that are in here, you know, as far as magic work goes, are also used in um abundance spells or things of that nature. Yes.
SPEAKER_01And so this is this could be an abundance spell as you're making it.
SPEAKER_00Yes, and in fact, you can make the the the bulk herb part of that and use this in many ways. Doesn't necessarily need to be turned into a spice blend, but it is super yummy and delicious. So I recommend doing at least a little bit of it in a spice blend. And then and you can do that in a mold wine, or you can also make it into a mock tail with like apple cider, um, not apple cider vinegar, but apple cider. And so, you know, there's like there's a couple variations of of making this into a beverage, and you can turn this into your own personal ritual for abundance or shop it stepping into the the fall season. Um it could also be uh something that you burn those, like if you have a little charcoal tab um in a cast iron pot or something that's you know that you can burn those in. You could also burn this and use that as a cleansing tool um as you're setting your intentions.
SPEAKER_01I love that. I'm looking at these ingredients, so it's like you could even do a simmer pot with these. Oh yeah, absolutely. And just like have it that way.
SPEAKER_00Like there's no right or wrong. You could turn this this blend into a sipping vinegar, which will be really yummy with like honey and apple cider vinegar, um, and use it as a topper for other beverages, you know. There's again, there's no right or wrong. These ingredients are delicious by themselves, and so um, you know, be creative with that. But I think also, you know, keeping in mind when you make that this this is your abundance blend. And so as you're setting your intentions for the season and for what you want, um, and I was actually just listening to a podcast the other day, and I think we're now down to 14 weeks before the end of this year is over. Oh my gosh. Which is wild. And not to cause what not to cause stress in the body with that statement, but but to keep that in mind with you know, as you're, you know, creating your abundance blend, um, that you know, we are going into the last phase of the of the of this of this year of 2026, which is hard to believe. Wild. Yeah. But this is something that this is the perfect time of year to go, okay, what do I actually want for the rest of this year? Right. Um, what are my goals? What do I need to release? Yeah, what am I wrapping up? Like what yeah, yeah, you know, so keeping those things in mind as you're, you know, transitioning into the season and you know, planting your seeds of abundance and also releasing the things that no longer serve you, you know, all of those things can go into this blend and your intentions as you're your intentions, absolutely.
SPEAKER_01Um, and this recipe can be found on your website, the herbshoppdx.com with a p an e on the end of the shop.
SPEAKER_00Yes, that's right, s h-o-p-p-e. Yes. And then pdx.com. Yes.
SPEAKER_01But let's run through the just for people listening, let's just run through the ingredients of that really quick because it just reading these kind of makes me feel all like warm and fuzzy, like just thinking about these ingredients stuff. Yes, definitely. Does it for me? Definitely.
SPEAKER_00I'm like, you actually read my mind. I'm like, warm and fuzzy is exactly what I fill with all of these things. Um, and so in this blend uh is cinnamon. Um, and cinnamon is of course very drying, but it also is very warming um and delicious when you add sugar, as we talked about on the last podcast. Yummy. Yeah, we did. Yes. You definitely need sugar to make cinnamon.
SPEAKER_01Definitely need to put it in something, right?
SPEAKER_00But excellent for that. And you know, I love what what you were talking about with the cinnamon and abundance in your house. So maybe you want to talk about that a little bit and how you use cinnamon.
SPEAKER_01Oh, yeah, it's it's just a ritual that you on the first of the month you take a hand, put a little cinnamon in your hand and blow it through your front door, like to bring in abundance into your house, house.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, and that's so great, just a little witchy thing. So just a few little witchy things, yes. Um, and then of course, orange pill has that beautiful spice and citrus.
SPEAKER_01And I love the smell of orange. It's just so good.
SPEAKER_00And it's also very warming, you know, it's a citrus, and most citruses have that kind of warming property to that.
SPEAKER_01It's like a happy smell. Like oranges.
SPEAKER_00Oh, it is, it's very uplifting. It's uplifting. Um and then hawthorn berries, which are a great uh cardiac and heart energetic, heart healing uh berry. And that's that's you know, uh uh one of my staples also for a mold spice blend. Um, and then there's rose hips, which is super yummy and delicious, and kind of the final piece of of the rose this time of year. That's like what you harvest this time of year. Um, and they have tons of vitamin C in them, which is great. And can also um, you know, great for your skin if you're doing like rosehep oil or anything of that nature. Um, but also just I think they have a delicious flavor to them. Them and they do kind of get a little bit like gummy at times, which can be a great benefit if you're doing like a rose hip jam or something like that. Oh, okay.
SPEAKER_01So you know, see, I've never worked with with rose hip, so that's really cool to know.
SPEAKER_00Uh, and then I think rose is also very gentle with the heart, you know, and heart energy. So that's why the Hawthorn and the rose are in here. And then ginger is the next one on the ingredient list here. I love ginger. Yeah, ginger just screams heat to me in general, but it also is so good for like moving things through the body. You know, anything that's a that has that heat, that's what it's kind of doing is like let's flush it through the system too, as we're like heating you up and releasing. So there's there's that release, you know, release form coming right on in.
SPEAKER_01It it does have a heat uh, you know, to it. Um my body responds really well to it as an anti-inflammatory. Like I've I've used it as that. So yeah, it's great for digestion. It's a thing too.
SPEAKER_00And again, it's kind of like it's it's kind of heating things up to like move it through. But yeah, I I ginger is hot, but to me, it's not like pepper that can cause like cayenne or something that that can cause kind of the reverse of that, which is too much heat in the body, and then that causes problems with inflammation.
SPEAKER_01Oh, yeah, you know, so it's it's that makes sense, yeah.
SPEAKER_00It's an interesting um contradiction in my brain.
SPEAKER_01It actually is when you say it like that, because inflammation is kind of a heat energy.
SPEAKER_00That definitely is so you wouldn't think you would think cooling, but no, for I mean, at least for me, I'm not sure if that's you know, and that everybody that can definitely go, you know, depending on everybody's constitution, you know, like if you're somebody that is more of a damp constitution, for example, then you know that ginger is gonna feel really good because it is adding a little heat in there and drying it out a little bit, right? And so, you know, yeah, depending on your constitution, this may or may not be like the right thing. Totally. Um everybody's different, everybody's slightly different. Yes. Uh yeah, and then I can't, I feel like you can't have a moling spice blend without kind of the last four on here.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, no, I think they're yeah, you need to have them.
SPEAKER_00The cardamom pods, yep, the clove, the star anise, and the allspice. Like those are all again kind of go into helping with things like digestion and moving things through. Um, but they they to me scream like fall.
SPEAKER_01It just does. It's just fall.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, you know, and and you think about um, you know, a lot of the like pumpkin pie, for example. Yeah, you know, it has a lot of these spices. It does have a lot of these spices in there. Yeah. And, you know, traditionally, not only are they things that you're harvesting this time of year with the abundance of of fall equinox and and you know, things of things of the nature for this time of year, yeah, but they also are excellent for digestion and that's sluggish and the warming of the body, you know, because obviously like we haven't always lived in houses necessarily, you know, like as humankind has has gone on, you know, uh we're pretty sheltered with our um, you know, eating an AC or or whatever, like having a roof over our head. Yeah but you know, these are things that are are gonna warm the body, and so um, and you know, clove, I like to talk about that too just for a hot second because clove is great, clove is great, and it's a major pain reliever. Like if you have a toothache, you can just you can literally chew on one of the clove buds in your teeth, and it'll help to like kind of numb that pain out there.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, uh even clove oil you can rub on your gum and it it's very, very hot.
SPEAKER_00You want to be careful, but it is, it is very hot for and that's especially in an essential oil form, you know, it can be really, really hot. So if you're gonna use an essential oil of any of these, like make sure to put it in some sort of a base oil so that it doesn't burn the skin, so that it doesn't burn, yeah.
SPEAKER_01But it does kill the pain with that.
SPEAKER_00Oh, for sure, for sure. So you know it smells so good, it does, it just reminds me of fall baking, like smell it goes straight into my brain and into my DNA and screams like it's fall time.
SPEAKER_01Yep, yep, definitely. Now, is this a blend that you spell that spell that you spell on your website? Is this a blend that you sell on your website or is this just a recipe on the blog?
SPEAKER_00This is just a recipe that's on the blog.
SPEAKER_01But they can buy all these things too.
SPEAKER_00Absolutely can buy all of these. Um, and you know, I sell them in really small increments so that you can, you know, get two tablespoons basically and not have to have a ton of extra herbs. So all of our my bulk herbs you can get in a quarter ounce size or an ounce size, and then of course you can order more of those as well. But that's really great for being able to make custom blends and not have just a crazy amount of excess. Yeah. Um, I do have my open heart moling spice blend that's similar to this. Um, and that's one that is already put together if you just want something really quick and easy to to make. But nice, you know, one beautiful thing about all recipes is that, you know, hey, maybe you don't want ginger in there and you want something else. You can just leave it out. Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_01Or maybe you don't have Hawthorn berries, but you have everything else.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, exactly. You know, and depending on where you are in the world, you may have a different abundance of you know, plants and things that you want to put in here. So there's no right or wrong with creating your recipe. This is more uh template and a idea, and you know, making a big batch of this and keeping it in a mason jar, you know, you'll have it for as long as you need it. Um, and like we were talking about before, maybe it's something that you want in a summer pot. Maybe it's, you know, maybe you do make the the the mold wine or the mocktail version of this, but maybe you just have it and you want to burn it as an incense or so many, it's so flexible in the ways you can use it. So many ways, you know. Maybe you want to make it into a bathtub, you know. You could totally brew all of this and put it in a tea bag or just make it, you know, and strain all the herbs out and then put it in your tub as a as a brew, as a brew. As a brew, as a bath brew.
SPEAKER_01As a bath brew. I love the idea of a bath brew. Yeah. And then you have a couple recipes of uh mold wine or a mocktail version.
SPEAKER_00Yes, and they're pretty similar. Um, you're gonna use about a quarter cup of the spice blend for either one. Um, the mold wine, I love red wine with this, it's really tasty. Um, and then I always put fresh apples and oranges in there, just kind of adds a little extra sweetness to that. And then you'll basically strain it all out after you let it, you're gonna bring it up to a boil, and then you're gonna simmer it down 30 minutes, is usually good. And then I will kind of pull it off of the heat and let it. I like to let it just um cool naturally that way until it gets down to room temperature, and then you can strain the herbs out. And then you'll want to if if it's still a little bit warm, that's good. Um, then you'll add your honey or maple syrup in there for a little sweetener. Um sounds yummy. But you do want that to be a little bit warm to heat up the maple syrup or the honey so that it infuses in there, they're good. You don't want it to be like a cold infusion fusion or you'll have a bunch of honey on the bottom of your pot. Honey globs. Yeah. Yeah. And so you're just kind of like bringing it up to a simmer, letting it cool off to room temperature, and then you know, you'll turn it up just to, I mean, just a warmer, like it does not need to be like simmering by any means. Or boiling at all. No, it does not need to be boiling by any means, but just enough to warm that up to melt the honey or maple syrup in there. Um, and then and then basically, yeah, you just let it cool off and you can serve it in you can again you can keep it warm and serve it warm, or you can cool it off and and have it as a cooled beverage.
SPEAKER_01So either one is good. It sounds so yummy warm.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I mean again this time of year, right? We want like the warm beverages, we want warm foods, we want soups, we want, you know, those things like that's normal for our body to want those things just like in the spring when we crave you know fresh extra things, you know. Like it it makes perfect sense because that is a part of the flow of the seasons.
SPEAKER_01Absolutely.
SPEAKER_00And the mocktail version is just apple cider instead of um yes, the mocktail is just you know, instead of using the wine, also with the mold wine, you can also do brandy. That's another like kind of substitute there that I don't really talk about in the recipe, but that's also a fun little addition there.
SPEAKER_01Um I also feel like there's a like a a version where you use the red wine and a little brandy and do this, and then you add nuts to it. Like it's I've I've seen that done. Uh-huh. That sounds delicious. Yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Um like that sounds great. You're like, okay. Yeah. I mean, again, like you're you are the creator of this. So you can be as creative as you want. Um, but yeah, the mocktail is virtually the same process. Uh, you're just using apple cider instead of using um the the alcohol. And so again, super yummy and delicious. And um, you know, another thing that I didn't actually put in the blog, but you could also do this, the old school traditional like folk method for either one of these, which would be to put all of the ingredients in here and put it in a mason jar and let it sit for 30 days. And then, you know, make sure you shake it, you know, uh daily. I'm gonna say daily, but often. Um, and then you'd strain it out and then add the honey or sweetener to it at the end too. And so you could experiment with both of them and see if there's one that you like better. They both are gonna extract deliciously either way, but um just another another method. Another thing you can do. Uh-huh. Yeah, a lot of times when people make things the full traditional way, um, you'll often see them, and myself included with this, that you are you're making the splendid with like maybe the full moon or the new moon, and you know, you're making it for a full cycle of that. And that's why there's that 30 days. Nice. And so keep that in mind if you decide to go that route, you know, and also another great time to add in your intentions. Yep.
SPEAKER_01Especially if you're doing it at new moon. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00And you know, the new moon is often where we release things. Um, or sorry, the the new moon is often where we plant things and the full moon is often where we're releasing things. And so those are good little simple tricks to remember when you're working with uh moon energy.
SPEAKER_01Well, and doing it that way you can keep track of how long you've had it rather than having to mark it, mark it with a date. You can just be like started on a new moon.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, yeah. You know, and I do think that you get some different elements that come in whenever you are working with that type of energy and uh you know, paying attention to like what you know, zodiac sign is in with each of those cycles, too, because you might want to cater it more towards one or the other of those as well.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, absolutely. So many, so many things, so many variations you can do.
SPEAKER_00For sure. So the simple, you know, abundance ritual that is included in the blog is you know, make the recipe, make yourself a small batch of that, and you know, pour yourself a cup, take a few minutes, take some deep breaths. You might want to write down some thoughts or in or intentions that you're working with here. Um, and then you know, ask yourself, what am I grateful for? Yeah, what can I share and what can I carry what can I release? I think those are the three I love that you know I love simple rituals. Yeah, it doesn't have to be anything elaborate. It can be just um the simple ritual that you're creating for yourself and for this time of year, and for what you want, you know, for the future and for the end of this year, um, and to carry you into the winter months and into January and February.
SPEAKER_01Definitely.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. So that's a fun little tip and recipe for for uh abundance and also for the fall equinox and the shifting of seasons.
SPEAKER_01I love it. I love it.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, me too. Like we could just keep creating recipes, we could just keep talking about recipes and intentions.
SPEAKER_01Um, okay, so awesome. As usual, do you want to go ahead and plug the website once again? Um, last time we talked about your new mocktail offering and the mic was cutting out, so we had to like edit that out. Um, but do you want to go ahead and just talk about all of that? What everything that you have going on right now?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, absolutely. So the website is uh www.theerbshop pdx and shop is sh o p-e, and then that's dot com. So the herbshoppdx.com. Um, and then a couple of really fun you know offerings you're mentioning. So I'm now offering uh private guided plant meditations and also one-on-one plant meditations if you want a really deep dive. And then also custom mocktails for your event. So, like as the holidays are coming up and you're thinking about parties. Um we can there's a couple, couple that I I make on the regular, but I'm always open to like let's shift this to something that you want.
SPEAKER_01So that's where maybe there's a theme for the party where you can be like, oh, this fits.
SPEAKER_00Like, yeah. Absolutely, absolutely. Love it. Signature drinks, signature drinks, your your way, my way, however we want to make it. Um, and then the other the next guided plant meditations coming up on October 22nd. And that one is with Blue Lotus. Yes, and that one's the one that's not sold out, right? And that one is the one that's not sold out. Just double checking the date here. Yeah, October 22nd, and that's at Candle Creation from seven to nine. I think I have three spots left.
SPEAKER_01If you're in the Portland area, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_00Blue Lotus is gonna be really fun to work with. I'm super excited about this one. Um, and it's carrying the tradition of this particular series where we're working in the dream world and um, you know, you know, kind of tapping into again the dark, the darkness as we're going into the darkness and different ways that we can be creative in the winter and fall season. Yeah. It's to tap into the dream world. It's to tap into the dream world. Yeah. So I love it. Couple spots left open for that. So definitely get signed up. Those classes definitely fill up and sell out. Um, the one in November is already sold out, which is uh on Cedar. And um I'm brewing up something for the winter solstice and hopefully a couple more open welches. So stay tuned for new events coming up.
SPEAKER_01Love it. Yeah, awesome. Thank you. Thank you so much for sharing this with us. Yeah, for the abundance of your knowledge.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, there we go. I'm gonna I'm grateful for the abundance of my knowledge. Thanks, Amanda. Thank you.
